Good bye Fargo, City of Lights, of Kites, of Wanton Abandon
I thought I had found a family in you
But one by one
Every bridge has been burned
Some by me
Some by angry mobs trying to kill me
Others by those who I thought were brothers
I’ve been run outa town on a rail tho
People hissing slanders behind me
As I go North again
It’s hard to say good bye
With so many good memories
but are they so good?
they hang like wicker men in the trees
Haunting me, my regrets
And all the friendships in the graveyard
Maggot-eaten and moulding
They wail to me at night, their hateful lament
of time wasted with me
So I’ll go – I’ll stay away
“Finally,” Fargo heaves a heavy sigh of relief.
