It’s so predictable. The US becomes a Righteous Christian state

—Christian in their words, at least

but in their deeds they were the devils hands

in truth they were his feet

They turned to help their neighbor, to help him sell his land, 

and turn his stones to profit and his people into sand.

They had freed themselves from earthliness 

Now they were heaven borne!

They’d freed themselves from lawlessness

Now ruled the Law of the Lord!

Now all that stood before them

and the Golden Age of man

Was to free the poor remaining who didn’t yet understand

That it is the pursuit of freedom that has kept him from his Highest Self

If he’d only stop his searching and give himself to God

He’d free him from his worldly freedom, and let the Holy Spirit dwell inside

Now God’s Will would be his will

And God’s Hands would be his hands

All he touched would have God’s Blessing

And he’d walk The Streets of Gold

“And now that you are God’s People,” they’d say

“A person who follows The Law

“You mustn’t go against us, for we are God’s Righteous Nation

“We are His Instrument

“His Voice & His Army

“The sickle in His Hand”

God’s. Righteous. Nation! 

May His Kingdom come! 

The time of reaping has arrived, may His harvest be bountiful!

May the sands tip ever in His favor!
